Dr. Vijay Panikar MD, DNB, FCPS is the founder and director of Dr. Panikar’s Specialtiy Care Centre located in Dadar & Bandra (East), Mumbai. He brings with him years of clinical expertise and training in this field. He has successfully managed a comprehensive spectrum of endocrine and diabetic cases over the past three decades.

Dr. Panikar is an active Professor of medicine at K.J. Somaiya Medical College, Sion, Mumbai. He is also an Hon. consultant with the Dept. of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Lilavati Hospital, and Gurunanak Hospital, Bandra, Mumbai.

He is a former faculty at Grant Medical College and Seth GS Medical College in Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr.Shashank R. Joshi is practicing Endocrinologist and Diabetologist who has topped all years of MBBS, MD, and DM with Gold Medals. He is a Fellow of the Americank College of Endocrinology (USA), American College of Physicians (USA) and the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London ,Glasgow and Edinburgh). He has more than 1000 research publications to his credit. He is the Hon. Emeritus Editor of JAPI (Journal of The Association of Physicians of India), Ex Editor of Indian Journal of Obesity, Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism and Indian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and several other leading medical journals. He is affiliated to several leading hospitals of the city including Lilavati & Sir HN Hospitals. He is the Past President, AIAARO (All India Association of Advancement for Research in Obesity, IASO Affiliate), Past Chapter Chair (India), American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE). He is visiting faculty to several Indian and International Universities. He is actively involved with evidence based work in Endocrinology including Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid, Osteoporosis and Growth. He was awarded “International Clinician of the year 2012” by the American College of Endocrinology. He has been conferred in 2014 “Padma Shri” by Government of India.

He has served as the President of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Bombay in the past. He is currently the acting vice-president of the Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India – Maharashtra Chapter and also the Secretary of the Association for Diabetes Care and Prevention.

Dr. Panikar has, to his credit, more than forty research publications. He has published in leading journals, co-authored numerous chapters for textbooks, and presented his research across the country. He has also authored a book on diabetes ‘The healthy way of living with diabetes’, which has also been translated in Gujarati, Marathi, and Malayalam.

With his tremendous communication skills, he has enlightened myriad admirers all over the globe through his well-crafted talks at seminars and conferences.

No wonder the vast ocean of his ingenuity has been utilized for the service of humanity.
